Since her earliest years, in the wheat fields of Southern Manitoba, Demetra has been listening carefully to the gentle voices of spirit. With whispers gleaned from starry skies and Icelandic steeps, from the Arctic Sea and the islands of Bali, she has woven a rich telling of connectedness between the divine and the human heart. As a yoga instructor, Demetra guides breath, offering her students the experience of harmony she believes belongs to us all. As a musician, Demetra’s voice carries from somewhere beyond our temporal existence. With resonant grace, she creates an atmosphere that has been described as transcendent and angelic. Lone Migration, Demetra’s debut album, was released in 2012, and was followed by extensive touring throughout Canada. In 2013, Demetra returned to the recording studio with Royal Canoe’s Matt Peters to record her second album,Wildspeak, expected to be released in the summer of 2015. Most recently, Demetra has been listening most carefully to nature, and the blessed oneness between the divine, the natural world, and all who dwell within it. Sweet Spirit Apothecary came from humble beginnings, in a cedar cabin, somewhere between a forest and a lake. Drawing from endless research, attentive intuition, and careful trial, Demetra creates skin care products, and crystal adorments that are honoring of nature and beautifying of the soul. In all of her endeavors, Demetra’s intention to align with Spirit is readily apparent.
